Book Hour: I’ll Drink to That – A Life in Fashion, with a Twist

We all share clothing and self-image issues, including the rich and famous. Betty Halbreich has been a personal shopper at the high-end Bergdorf Goodman in New York City for over forty years. She has met and worked with some of the most famous fashion designers and customers one could imagine. Yet, she finds we are all at our most vulnerable concerning self-image and how we lok to others. Betty’s work naturally entails clothing but she has also served her customers as a type of therapist. She’s always truthful but she’s always constructive and helpful for her clients’ emotional needs, too. She accomplished all of this despite a complex and checkered personal history. You’ll enjoy her stories and, perhaps, even look at yourself in the mirror a bit differently next time.

The Tim Danahey Show started in July, 2010 at internet station Castle Rock Radio. It started as a one-day-per week endeavor and quickly grew to five days per week. The show discusses economics, government, social issues, history, and non-fiction books in a magazine format featuring in-depth conversations with guests. Politics and inflammatory conversations are discouraged as they are divisive and counter-productive. Instead, the show seeks under-reported topics and delves into facts, different perspectives, and ramifications of each perspective.
